In the Bobby Sox Softball 30th annual Regional All-Star Tournament 8-under championship game, Madera (9-1) was able to avenge its only loss Sunday with a 6-2 win over Salinas to capture the title.
After taking first in its previous district tournament in La Mirada and qualifying for Nationals, Madera returned home and finished 4-1 overall in the two-day tourney at Lions Town and Country Park.
“It means everything for these girls to win in Madera,” said head coach Francine Ricks. “These girls were very dedicated and put in a lot of hard work at practice. They just have a lot of heart and great attitudes.”
Behind the pitching of Kaylee Patlan and Miranda Moles, Madera opened the tournament by crushing NV Milpitas, 16-2, and followed with a 9-3 win over Fairfield-Suisun. Madera suffered its first loss on Saturday to Salinas before beating Fairfield-Suisun, 9-1, Sunday to advance to the championship game...

Madera did not win the regional tourney for the 8U. It was a double elimination game and salinas was 3-1. Game had to be called a tie due to it being 9:30pm when the game ended. To continue with a tie breaker it would of ended way past midnight and it would of been to much for 8 year olds.
