Madera American 10s fall twice to Reedley

FRESNO — It was a winner-take-all game between the Madera American Little League 10-year-old All-Star team and Reedley in the District 10 championship game.

A day after handing Madera American its first loss of the tournament, Reedley benefited from 17 hits Sunday to complete the two-game sweep and claim the District 10 Championship banner with a 13-6 win at River Park.

Reedley didn’t waste any time scoring as it got out a 10-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second inning with the help of 12 hits and two wild pitches.

Madera American got onto the scoreboard after Nikayha Castro doubled and scored on an overthrow to third base after a groundout by Cirrus Zamora. Castro led the team at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double while Chris Jones went 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs...
