Tim Lincecum is getting lit up like Clark Griswold’s house before Christmas. And you have to wonder if “The Freak” has lost it or has just been unlucky in his three starts this season.
He is 0-2 with an ERA of 8.44 and has been particularly bad in the first inning. Last season, he gave up eight firstinning runs all season. After three outings this year, he has surrendered nine. I can do the math for you, but suffice it to say that these kind of numbers are often accompanied with one-way tickets to the Instructional League.
And players from opposing teams must be lobbying the manager to get penciled in near the top of the lineup. Because that is where Lincecum has been really getting torched.
