Record setters: Four Liberty players set records this season, led by receiver Travis Jordan. Jordan is the team’s season and career leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. He also holds the school record for receiving yards in a game. Quarterback Zach Richey is also re-setting school passing records. He holds the game, season and career record for passing yards. He also holds the school record for touchdowns in a career and is second for touchdowns in a season. Defensive lineman Trevor Stephens set the school record with 11 sacks this season, beating the record set last season. Kicker Seth Wedemeyer also set the school record for field goals in a game with four.
1,000 men: For the third year in a row, the Hawks had a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. Wade Wallace led the team with 1,137 yards while Richie Brandt rushed for 1,065 yards. Kendall Malone added 513 yards.
Making plays count: in Liberty’s victory Friday, the Hawks ran just 39 plays while gaining 358 yards for an average of 9.2 yards per play. Meanwhile, Mendota took 66 plays to gain 362 yards for an average of 5.4 yards per play.
Running around: Linebacker Kendall Malone and lineman C.J. Cambra led the team with nine tackles each while brothers Chad and Wade Wallace had eight tackles each.
