Liberty gets top seed, Madera gets No. 10

After finishing the regular season with a 9-1 record, including a season-ending 33-0 victory Friday night over the Chowchilla Redskins, the Liberty Hawks football team earned the No. 1 seed in the Div. V Central Section playoffs, which were announced Saturday.

The Hawks opened the season undefeated before a 26-18 loss to the Washington Union-Easton Panthers in Week 8.

Liberty responded with victories over Kerman and Chowchilla to finish second in the North Sequoia League.

The Hawks earned a first round bye and will host either Caruthers (No. 8) or Sierra-Tollhouse (No. 9) in the quarterfinals on Nov. 22...
