The final day of the Fresno Easter Classic baseball tournament was marked by another disappointing loss for the Liberty Hawks, as they got behind early and couldn't find momentum in a 6-4 defeat to the Sunnyside-Fresno Wildcats.

“I thought we took a step backwards today,” Hawks head coach Terance Frazier said. “They came out really flat.”

The Hawks, playing as the home team at Buchanan Stadium, found themselves down 2-0 in the first inning after starting pitcher DeAndre Smith gave up two hits, walked two batters and threw two wild pitches that got away from catcher A.J. Leon to give the Wildcats easy scores.

Liberty responded as leadoff batter Braden Cardoza started the bottom of the first with a single to shallow right field and successfully stole to second...
