Once the final seconds ticked off last week in a 48-0 victory over Yosemite-Oakhurst, Mike Nolte and the rest of the Liberty Hawks football team shifted its attention to the Sierra-Tollhouse Chieftains.

The Hawks, who are ranked No. 1 in Division V, have defeated every team this season, but face their toughest test of the season tonight with Division V’s third-ranked Chieftains in Tollhouse at 7 p.m.

“I started thinking about the game right away knowing what a team like Sierra is,” Nolte said. “We talked about it right after the game. We told the kids to enjoy the game, but also know what’s on the horizon.”

The Hawks head into the game on a roll with back-to-back dominating performances over Caruthers and Yosemite. Meanwhile, after losing to Mendota two weeks ago, the Chieftains knocked off a dangerous Washington Union-Easton team...
