Liberty faces another rival

After exercising some ghosts from the past with a dominant 41-7 victory over the Fowler Redcats, the Liberty Hawks football team will look to defeat another rival — the Corcoran Panthers.

Over the past five years, the Hawks (3-0) faced the Panthers (0-3) seven times and came away with a victory three times. The teams are 2-2 in the postseason, meeting twice for a Valley Championship, including Liberty’s 35-12 win last season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. tonight at Liberty.

“The intensity has turned up a little in practice in terms of what we’re doing,” head coach Mike Nolte said. “I would like to see it more, but it is better than last week.”
