The Madera South Stallions girls basketball team was outsized and outplayed as it fell to the powerful inside game of the Bullard-Fresno Knights 62-30.
The Stallions (10-6) rushed out to an early 6-4 lead in the game’s first three minutes on jump shots from sophomore Taja Knox, junior Katie Johnson, and senior Eddy Herrera on Wednesday at Madera South.
From that point, however, the Knights (6-5) were unstoppable and finished the quarter up 17-6, then outscored the Stallions each quarter by two, seven, and 12 points.
“We had some opportunities early on and we didn’t take advantage of them at all,” Stallions head coach Matt Toews said. “There were a lot of things we could have done that we didn’t capitalize on.” ...
