With the help of several local agencies including Mike’s Mini Storage of Madera, youth 15 years or younger will have the opportunity to reel in a big catch as well as learn about fish biology, their environment and water safety on Kids Fishing Day.

The event will be April 27 at the Buck Ridge upper boat ramp parking lot presented by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Participants are encouraged to join park rangers from Hensley and Eastman Lake as registration begins at 8 a.m. or they can sign up earlier by contacting Park Ranger Nick Figueroa at 673-5151.

Mid Valley Bass Club will provide a free lunch and raffle to young fishermen and their families starting at 11:30 a.m. There are limited amounts of loaner fishing poles available so people are encouraged to bring their own.

The club also held a rummage sale in March to raise money to provide the free raffle and hot dog lunch for the participants...
