Jefferson rolls past MLK

The Thomas Jefferson Middle School eighth grade baseball team is using the final week of the Central Valley Athletic League to tune up for next week’s playoffs.

However, the Patriots forgot to tell Martin Luther King Middle School’s Michael Sullit. He hit a 1-1 pitch from Thomas Jefferson starting pitcher Mario Garcia for a two-run homer Monday.

The Patriots would settle down, though, and cruise to a 19-2 victory.

Thomas Jefferson got RBI singles from Chris Chapa and Jackson Leach to tie the game in the bottom of the first. Garcia settled down and did not give up a run over the next two innings...
