After senior running back Raul Ocegueda recovered an onside kick at the 50-yard line to start the third quarter, he threw a 44-yard half-back pass to sophomore wide receiver Calvin Ruvalcaba, who caught the pass and outran his defender to ignite the Madera South crowd and trim Selma’s lead to 14-7.

Although it didn’t result in any points, the Stallions backed Selma into corner with a 17-play drive that started on the Madera South 40-yard line and got down to the Selma 3-yard line. On that drive, sophomore quarterback Aldo Serifen-Domiguez completed a 15-yard pass to Christian Guillen and a seven-yard first-down pass to Jacob Valladares on a fourth-and-five.

On the drive, Valladares rushed for 17 yards on three carries and Freddie Montero rushed for 10 yards on three carries.

A 3-yard touchdown pass was nullified because of a penalty and the drive ended on a sack to close out the first half...
