Inside the game: Liberty Hawks 35, Corcoran Panthers 13

With the Hawks nursing a 10-7 lead midway through the second quarter, Zach Richey threw deep down the middle and Travis Jordan made the catch with a defender on him for a 33-yard touchdown and open a 17-7 lead with 4:37 left in the first half. On top of that, the pass play made Richey the Liberty career leader in passing yards.

After Liberty went up 23-7, Corcoran had a third-and-10. Nicholas Portillo threw incomplete up the middle and Logan Pierce put a hit on the intended receiver. Pierce was penalized for spearing and the subsequent arguments from the Liberty sideline resulted in two straight unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Portillo then drove the Panthers to the nine-yard line.

The Liberty defense stepped up. Kendall Malone sacked Portillo for a 20-yard loss as Portillo tried to throw the ball away. He was hit with an intentional grounding penalty.

After an incomplete pass on second down, Portillo was sacked by Steven Clark for an eight-yard loss...
