Early in the second quarter, Liberty trailed 14-7 from the Caruthers 22-yard line. Liberty quarterback Zach Richey eluded pressure and sent a ball to the end zone. Travis Jordan, who scored three touchdowns, reached over a defender to tip the ball in the air and followed it into his arms for a touchdown to help tie the score at 14.

Liberty led 20-14 midway through the third quarter. Liberty got the ball at its own seven-yard line. They earned seven first downs, went 16 plays to take a 27-14 lead in the fourth quarter.
Kendall Malone started the drive with a 16-yard gain. Richie Brandt followed with a 13-yard gain and a nine-yard gain for a first down. Richey hit Wallace for 13-yards on third-and-10. On third-and-seven, Brandt carried for seven. Brandt then carried for 12 to the 13-yard line. Abraham Thorne ran for a first down.
