Finally! That can be exclaimed from most of the Liberty Hawks football faithful after Friday’s 35-12 victory over the Corcoran Panthers to win the school’s first-ever football Valley Championship.

The championship paid homage to previous Liberty Hawk football teams that have reached the game and haven’t been able to come away with victories.

“This is amazing,” senior co-captain Logan Doss said. “I didn’t do it for myself, but for my family. I expected it to be a physical war. We came out and fought like we knew.”

Doss ends a line of three Doss brothers spanning nine years of Liberty football. The family has seen the team lose Valley Championships in 2009 to Corcoran and in 2011 to Fowler...
