Hawks tie Lions after late-match rally, 2-2

On a Thursday night defined by fog, light rain and a sloppy field, the Liberty boys soccer team overcame a two-goal deficit late in the second half of a North Sequoia League game to tie the Kerman Lions, 2-2.

Players for both teams slipped and slid across the field after rainstorms earlier that day. However, Liberty head coach Darrell Ratzlaff said his team was used to worse.

“We've played in full-on rainstorms before,” he said. “So this is actually drier than what we're used to.”

The Hawks (6-9-6, 2-3-1 NSL) fell to a 2-0 deficit after the Lions' (7-8-2, 2-1-2 NSL) Nicholas Flores kicked a tough shot past the outstretched arms of Liberty goalkeeper Jordan Lewis with 26 minutes left in the second half...
