Hawks set records in rare rout

In the six years and eight games of the Liberty Hawks-Fowler Redcats football rivalry, the Redcats seemed to have the upper hand against Liberty.

However, the Hawks totally dominated Friday night’s contest with the Redcats for their second straight victory over the rivals. The 41-7 victory Friday is the largest margin of victory in the rivalry and the 41 points is the most scored by any team. In fact, Liberty has scored more than 35 points in all three wins over Fowler.

“It’s real nice,” Liberty head coach Mike Nolte said. “I’m not going to lie, it was fun.”
