Hawks remain unbeaten

After almost three quarters, the Liberty Hawks held a touchdown lead over the Sierra-Tolhouse Chieftains.

Then, Liberty (7-0, 2-0 North Sequoia League) head coach Mike Nolte went to his bread-and-butter — hand the ball off to fullback A.J. Leon. Leon scored all three touchdowns and got the carry on 8 of 10 plays in the game-clinching 82-yard fourth quarter touchdown drive for a 21-0 victory over the Chieftains (5-2, 1-1 NSL).

In a game highlighted by the top three teams in Division V, the No. 1 ranked Hawks racked up 377 yards and limited their third straight opponent to less than 130 yards of total offense in a dominating victory over No. 3 Sierra.

Three weeks ago, the Hawks allowed 127 yards of total offense to Caruthers and has allowed less and less the next two weeks with 94 to Yosemite-Oakhurst last week and 58 to Sierra. Sierra had just 5 first downs, two by penalty, and passed for 4 yards...
