Friday’s North Sequoia League baseball game between the Yosemite Badgers and Liberty Hawks was a pitching duel rarely seen at the high school level, as even the final out would come down to the two players who battled each other on the mound the entire game.
Liberty, playing at home, earned the 1-0 victory on the arm of ace pitcher Connor Brogdon who threw seven innings of four-hit shutout ball and a personal-best 13 strikeouts.
“It feels great to get the win,” Brogdon said. “I finally had a big strikeout game when I hadn't had one all year.”
