Although the Liberty Hawk softball team pulled out a 3-1 victory over the Riverdale Cowgirls, coach Bob Barber wasn’t impressed.
“I was a little frustrated with our offense,” he said. “We were a little out of sync. I told the girls that I would judge them with their attitude, effort and energy. Those are what they can control. We want those to be off the charts, but we were just 5 on effort and energy. We just weren’t aggressive. I hope this is a wake-up call for us.”
The Hawks banged out seven hits Tuesday, but left 10 runners on base, including six in scoring position. They also struck out five times.
