Hawks get win over Stallions

Down by seven early in the fourth quarter, the Madera South Stallions football team began a drive.

Exclusively exploiting the right side of the Liberty Hawks defense, the combination of Javier Moreno and Jacob Valladares drove the Stallions down the field.

On third-and-two, Freddie Montero gained three for a first down. On third-and-one, Aldo Serifen-Dominguez carried for 16 and a first down. On fourth-and-nine from the Liberty 29, Moreno gained 10 for a first down.

Valladares followed with a five-yard gain. Three plays later, Valladares gained two yards on fourth-and-two for a first down. On the next play, Moreno completed the 15-play, 65-yard drive with a nine-yard touchdown run with 2:14 left in the Friday evening game for a 14-13 Liberty lead...
