The Liberty girls basketball team suffered a hefty defeat at the hands of the Sierra High Chieftains, falling 54-18 at home in a North Sequoia League game marked by physical play.
The Hawks (7-10, 0-3 NSL) had trouble dealing with the aggressive full-court pressure used by the Chieftains (14-7, 2-1 NSL) Wednesday night.
On many occasions Liberty couldn't even get past half-court as players were swarmed by three or even four opposing girls from all sides, resulting in a jump ball or a steal right out of their hands.
Liberty head coach Kimberly Stroemer said that referees should have done a better job calling fouls in those situations...
