Many can say that the past two weeks for the Liberty Hawks have been filled with excitement after signature wins over Madera South and Fowler.

However, Liberty head coach Mike Nolte knows that those wins are important, but the signature win he is looking for comes in late November.

“They are both huge wins,” Nolte said. “Beating a bigger school in Madera South is big and the rivalry with Fowler makes that one big as well.”

The Hawks (3-0) travel to Corcoran (1-2) tonight for their annual match-up between two perennial Division V powers with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The teams are 2-2 over the past two years. Corcoran holds the biggest win with a 31-28 victory in the 2009 Valley Championship game...
