After going through the North Sequoia League with relative ease, the Liberty Hawks girls tennis team earned the No. 2 seed in the CIF Central Section Division IV girls tennis playoffs announced Monday.
The Hawks went undefeated through the NSL and got challenged just once, a 5-4 victory over Yosemite-Oakhurst. Liberty was scheduled to host Granite Hills-Porterville today at 2 p.m. However, Granite Hills’ players couldn’t get out of class and will forfeit the match.
“That’s right where I thought we would be,” head coach Greg Ruland said. “Taft has been right behind Bakersfield Christian the past two years and Bakersfield got moved up. Taft is a good team.”
The Hawks will next host No. 3 Strathmore or No. 6 Wasco on Thursday at 2 p.m...
