Hawks don’t get results at Garces

In three games at the Garces Holiday Soccer Festival in Bakersfield, the Liberty Hawks girls soccer team outplayed its opponents, according to head coach Erik Walker, but couldn’t come away with a victory.

“Every game that we played, we outplayed them,” Walker said. “We just couldn’t finish.”

In Liberty’s first game at the Bakersfield tournament, Cleveland High School out of Reseda scored 13 seconds into the game. Liberty dominated the rest of the game, but couldn’t get the equalizer.

“That woke our team up and we outplayed them the next 79 minutes,” Walker said. “There was nothing we could tell our school after the game. They did everything we asked them to, but couldn’t get that goal.” ...
