The Sierra-Tollhouse Chieftains came to Liberty with hopes of an upset victory after giving the girls soccer team a scare during the first half of the North Sequoia League season.

On Senior Night at Liberty — not a chance.

The Hawks scored 16 minutes into the game for the early lead and added two second-half goals to cruise to a 3-0 victory and win their sixth straight league championship — the fourth straight undefeated.

“It was a tough game, but we still controlled it,” head coach Ed Benavente said. “Sierra was aggressive. However, we are a championship team and recognized what was going on and got back in the game.” ...
