Hat trick leads Coyotes to win

The first time the Madera Coyote boys soccer team faced the Sanger Apaches, reigning County/Metro Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player Luis Hernandez missed the game and the Apaches came away with a 2-1 overtime victory.

Madera head coach Chris Baca made sure his MVP would be ready for Thursday’s rematch with the Apaches in Memorial Stadium.

“He energises the team,” Baca said. “He makes everyone better wherever he is on the field.”

Hernandez recorded a hat trick with three goals in a 3-1 CMAC victory against the Apaches. The victory gives the Coyotes (13-5-6, 4-2-1) control of their own destiny for a CMAC crown. They are currently tied with Sunnyside-Fresno and Bullard-Fresno for the top spot and face both teams next week in the final week of the regular season...
