The Madera Speedway returns to racing action Saturday when it hosts Hampton Inn Night featuring the LunkerDaddy Late Models, Sport Mods, MSTs, Toyota Sedans, Hobby Stocks and 4- Bangers.
After three qualifying track records fell and five drivers took the checkered flag, racers are ready to get back out and compete on the speedway’s new repaved surface.
In the season-opening race for the LunkerDaddy Late Models class Saturday, Jason Aguirre was the victor in the 40-lap main. But with one week to prepare, the likes of Ray Mayer, who finished second in the race, and thirdplace finisher Rusty Robertson will have 40 more laps to try and top Aguirre.
Like Aguirre, Toyota Sedan driver Jarred Tickel will try to make it two wins in row as he claimed the 30- lap main in the Saturday race. Tickel will have plenty of competition in this 30-lap race with Del McIntosh, Ed Rodriquez, Candee McIntosh and Kyle Fortney, who are all coming off top-five finishes...
