Hall leads Coyotes to win

Autianna Hall scored the first seven points of the game and scored nine straight points at the end of the second quarter into the third to lead the Madera Coyote girls basketball team to a 52-36 victory over Caruthers on the first day of the Madera Shootout.

Hall scored a career-high 23 points Wednesday night to lead Madera. She pulled down 7 rebounds, four on the offensive glass with 3 steals. She could have added more, if not for 5-of-14 from the free throw line.

“Autianna played strong tonight,” head coach Jason Smith said. “She attacked the offensive rebounds and finished strong.”

The Coyotes also had to overcome a shaky shooting night. Madera shot 34 percent (18-of-53) from the field, 33 percent (3-of-9) from 3-point land and 35 percent (11-of-31) from the free throw line...
