Two swings was all it took to put an end to the Madera Coyote softball team’s 17- game County/Metro Athletic Conference winning streak.
Ariel Robles hit a solo home run and Kaela Bennett hit a grand slam to hand the Coyotes a 5-2 loss Friday at Zimmerman Field. The loss was the first for the Coyotes in the CMAC since joining the league last year.
“They have two players that can hurt us and we let that happen today,” head coach Judy Shaubach said.
The Coyotes (7-1 CMAC) are still in the hunt for their second straight league championship. A win at Sunnyside on Tuesday will clinch the championship and a win over Bullard-Fresno on Senior Day Friday will give the Coyotes an outright championship...
