ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Davante Adams’ juggling catch and run for an 89-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter completed Fresno State’s comeback from a 21-point deficit Saturday, sparking the Bulldogs to a 49-32 win over New Mexico.

Adams finished with nine catches for 198 yards and two scores — the second of which gave Fresno State a 28-24 lead. Derek Carr overcame a slow start to finish with 416 yards and four touchdowns for the Bulldogs (6-3, 4-1 Mountain West).

Kasey Carrier ran for 136 yards and a pair of scores on 19 carries for the Lobos (4-5, 1-3), but all but 20 of the yards came in the first half.

New Mexico went up 21-0 early in the second quarter after Carrier took a draw play 30 yards for a score.

Carr completed 20 of 28 passes in the second and third quarters for 330 yards and all of his touchdowns. Besides the scoring passes to Adams for 89 and 7 yards, Carr hit Marcel Jensen for 21 yards and Victor Dean for 7 yards.

The Lobos lost its top two quarterbacks to injuries in the first half. Cole Gautsche went out in the first quarter and B.R. Holbrook, who had a concussion last week, was lost on New Mexico’s final offensive play of the first half with a shoulder injury.

In the second half, Fresno State held the Lobos to 99 yards of total offense. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs finished with 600 yards of offense, with 511 of that coming after the first quarter.

Robbie Rouse had 120 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries for Fresno State and Victor Dean added 88 yards and a touchdown.

Gautsche, an option quarterback, had 50 yards on three carries before leaving.

New Mexico finished with 349 yards rushing but only threw for 45, completing just four passes in the game.
