Former football player stays close to roots

Even during his time with the Madera Coyotes football and coed cheer squad, Chris Imperatrice always stayed close to his roots in the Madera Ranchos.

Since Liberty High School wasn’t even a thought when he was going to school, Imperatrice attended Madera High from 1993-97, where he played on the football team and was a member of the coed cheer squad — where he met his wife, Megan (McCullough).

He was a second team All-Tri-River Athletic Conference member his senior year and the captain of the football team. He then attended Fresno State and received his bachelor’s degree in 2001.

From there, Imperatrice went back to his roots and started to coach football. After coaching at Madera and Clovis West, he went back home and taught at Liberty High School for seven years and became the second football head coach in the school’s history...
