Former Madera Coyote softball standout Veronica “Roni” Arellano-Miller is finally realizing one of her lifelong dreams — taking over the softball program at York College in Nebraska.

  York College announced in late April that Miller will replace Tori Rath as head women’s softball coach, starting this fall.

  Miller is no stranger to York College as she was a softball player there from 1997-2000. Miller graduated from Madera High School in 1997 and played softball all four seasons.

Most people at York remember her as Roni Arellano. She spent just under eight years at the college in various positions. She started out as a student-athlete, then became an assistant softball coach. After graduation, she worked as a recruiter in the admissions office.  After three years in admissions, she returned to California to be closer to her family...
