Tonight, when Tyler Bates suits up for the final time as a Madera Coyote in the 58th annual City/County All-Star football game at Lamonica Stadium, it will signal the end of an era in Coyote sports.
Tyler is the last of a long line of athletes in the Bates family, starting off with his father, Jim, who was a City/County All-Star for Dos Palos. Tyler’s brother Nick started at safety in 2005.

The three-year starter had 47 tackles, three forced fumbles and three interceptions. He also rushed for 247 yards, was a first team AllCMAC selection and a member of the All-Madera Tribune team.
He will be joined by teammates Eric Mendoza and Noe Lopez...
