Edison tops Coyotes in CMAC

After participating in the Fresno Easter Classic, the Madera and Edison baseball teams returned to County/Metro Athletic Conference play with serious thoughts of making a run at a league championship.

Both the Coyotes and Tigers — with along San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno — entered tied for first place in the CMAC standings.

Edison (11-13-1, 7-3 CMAC) took the first step toward that potential league title on Wednesday night with an 8-4 win over the Coyotes (18-9, 6-4 CMAC) on Mel Parker Field. Memorial also stayed in first with an 8-0 home win over Madera South.

Madera, the defending Div. II section champion, has a chance to get back at the Tigers and stay in the title hunt when it plays in Fresno tonight at 6.
