Madera Coyote girls basketball head coach Jason Smith presented his team with three keys to their game against the Edison-Fresno Tigers.

Unfortunately, the Coyotes didn’t accomplish any of them in a 72-38 County/ Metro Athletic Conference loss Tuesday in Joe Flores Gym.

“We did nothing right,” Smith said. “We talked about the keys to the game and we did none of them. We talked about finishing strong, not turning the ball over and controlling the boards. They out-rebounded us two-to-one, easy, and we had too many turnovers.”

The Coyotes committed 27 turnovers and the Tigers scored 35 points off of those turnovers. Madera also shot just 24 percent from the field (13 of 55), including four of 14 from 3-point range (29 percent) and eight of 21 (38 percent) from the free throw line...
