District crowns football champs

Thirty-nine teams from 18 schools culminated their flag football season on Wednesday at Madera High School to earn bragging rights throughout Madera Unified School District.

The Madera Unified League of Elementary Sports (M.U.L.E.S.) gave trophies to four different categories.

Sherman Thomas defeated Dixieland to win the seventh/eighth grade boys division. Ezekiel Tafoya Alvarado Academy won the consolation. In the seventh/eighth grade girls division, ETAA defeated Sherman Thomas for the championship.

The John Adams fifth and sixth grade boys team defeated Monroe for the title and Lincoln won the consolation...
