Imagine the scene for Little League ballplayer Joel Valdivia in the Minors City Championship game.

With two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning and his teammate Isaiah Monge in scoring position in a tied ball game, Valdivia produced the game-winning RBI that sent his team into a frenzy.

On Valdivia’s solid hit to left field, Monge scored the game-ending run as Madera National Little League Minors champion David’s Equipment Repair (17-4) defeated defending Madera American Little League and city champ Perko Cafe’s, 6-5, Saturday at Lions Town and Country Park.

After Perko’s (22-2) valiantly battled back to tie the game at 5-5 in the top of the fifth inning, the contest appeared to be heading into extra innings before Monge kept the game alive with a two-out double and Valdivia delivered the game-deciding run...
