When it rains, it pours: Madera scored 77 points in its victory over Reedley on Friday, the third most in school history. The most Madera has ever scored was 87 in a victory over Dos Palos in 1923.

Madera South Stallions

Boom, boom, punt: While there wasn’t a lot that went right for Madera South in its game against Liberty, Stallion punter Jacob Valladares did have five kicks that totaled 211 yards for a 42.2 average. Those deep kicks allowed Madera South’s “Bomb Squad” (punt coverage unit) to limit Hawk returner Braden Cardoza to just 25 yards on three returns...

Man on a mission: Cody Sanders was all over the field during Friday’s 38-0 victory over the Madera South Stallions. He recorded 16 tackles, including six solo tackles. He also returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown and a 1-yard touchdown run...
