Madera Coyotes vs. Madera South Stallions

Similarities: Both the Madera Coyotes and Madera South Stallions got stellar performances from their respective running games in the fifth annual Stadium Road Showdown on Friday, which Madera won 48-30. Madera's Jesus Jimenez ran for 112 yards and three touchdowns, while Madera South's Lalo Guzman ran for 105 yards and two scores. Also, the Coyotes' Alec Gamboa complemented Jimenez's strengths with 85 yards and two scores while Madera South's Christian Morales did the same for Guzman, racking up 85 yards.

Differences: The lack of a viable passing threat would prove to be the Stallions' downfall, as quarterback Greg Rodriguez only completed two of nine passes for 13 yards with two interceptions. His receivers often dropped balls and the Coyote passing defense, which had been problematic in prior games, stepped up with excellent coverage, particularly from Jo Jo Contreras and Alec Gamboa, who added two interceptions. Comparatively, Madera's quarterback Nathaniel Nelson completed eight of 15 passes for 186 yards, one touchdown, and one interception...

III, Yosemite-Oakhurst used to be a Div. III school and Chowchilla and Kerman are in Division IV.

Double-triple: For the second time this season, the Liberty Hawks had two rushers eclipse the 100-yard mark in a game. Wade Wallace was a part of both of those. Wallace rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown in last week’s win over Chowchilla. Fullback A.J. Leon added 109 yards and also scored a touchdown...
