Madera Coyotes

Aerial assault: The Dinuba Emperors' star quarterback, Marcus McMaryion, would again prove to be too much for the Coyotes in Madera's season-ending playoff loss. McMaryion completed 18 of 28 passes for 297 yards and four scores, and has yet to throw an interception all season with 38 touchdowns.

Deep threat: Emperor receiver Aaron Taylor, McMaryion's favorite target, caught 5 passes for 155 yards and three first-half scores. The first two were long-ball touchdowns of 43 and 65 yards respectively...

Liberty Hawks

Leading the way: With the big win over Immanuel-Reedley, Liberty football head coach Mike Nolte became the school’s all-time winningest football coach, although its only had football for 10 years. Nolte (31-19, .620 winning percentage) passed Imperatrice (30-16, .652) in the same amount of seasons, four.

Record score: When Abraham Thorne returned a kickoff 72 yards for a touchdown Friday night in a 67-14 victory over Immanuel, he helped the Hawks set a school record for most points in a game, beating the old mark set in 2007 against Laton (62-0). Since the school’s inception, the Hawks have scored 40 or more points in a game 16 times, three this season...
