The Madera Coyote boys volleyball team took a set in the County/Metro Athletic Conference from Central Section power Bullard-Fresno.

However, the Knights came back to win the next three sets to take the CMAC match on Tuesday, spoiling Madera’s Senior Night in Joe Flores Gym.

On a night where the Coyotes honored six seniors — Jose Pineda, Michael Angell, Bryan Edmonston, Sergio Perez, Mathew Peters and Max Levake — Madera came out strong in the first set, but Bullard’s power was too much.

Bullard’s William McKinley recorded a game-high 20 kills. The Coyotes tried to match up with a four-headed attack, led by Angell’s 17 kills. Tashawn Ford put down nine kills, Levake had eight and Edmonston had seven...
