“We’re No. 1 in the CMAC,” said Coyote senior co-captain Daniel Barsotti as the Madera Coyote boys volleyball team celebrated a 3-0 victory over San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno.
The Coyotes easily overmatched the Panthers, outscoring Memorial 75-32 in the match that lasted less than an hour in the County/Metro Athletic Conference opener.
The Thursday match could have been over a lot quicker, but numerous Coyote errors led to a 25-17 Madera victory in the third set in Joe Flores Gym.
“That’s what happens when I sub too much,” head coach Rhonda Jefferson said. “We played better tonight and got rid of a lot of mistakes we have been making. Daniel got hot in the second game and we did a good job of going to him.” ...
