Coyotes stunned by Panthers

After a stunning 2-1 victory over Bullard-Fresno on Tuesday, the Madera Coyote girls soccer team suffered the inevitable letdown in a 2-0 loss to the San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno Panthers.

The Panthers’ Adrianna Aguirre scored 50 seconds into the match and the Coyotes were on their heels the rest of the way in Friday’s County/Metro Athletic Conference match.

Natalya Ferdinandi added an insurance goal in the 18th minute of the second half.

“We didn’t come out to play,” head coach Eli Liuba said. “Maybe we were exhausted from Bullard. There’s no excuse. We didn’t play at the same level and we had no desire.” ...
