The Madera Coyote softball team opened its season with a dominating 6-2 victory over the Dinuba Emperors in the Buchanan Preseason Tournament.
Unfortunately, that was the high point of the night for the Coyotes. Madera tied Hanford West 1-1 and lost to the Clovis North Broncos 2-1 Wednesday to end the night.
With the loss to Clovis North, the Coyotes ended third in their pool and will play the Liberty Hawks at 9 a.m. Saturday.
