For the first time in the school’s history, Madera South High will host the Yosemite Divisionals Central Section wrestling tournament.
Fresh off its third consecutive County/Metro Athletic Conference championship, the Madera Coyotes will send 12 wrestlers to the two-day 32-man bracket tournament while the Stallions will have 10 competing today starting at 10 a.m. in Madera South’s West Gym.
“To be able to host a tournament like this is not only big for Madera South but the community as a whole,” Stallion head coach Jason Gaeth-Pearce said. “It’s part of the vision that we’ve had here from day one. We have unbelievable facilities, so we just want to show the Valley what we have and what we can do with them.”
