Coyotes softball wins sixth straight game

FRESNO — With six runs in the final four innings, the Madera Coyote softball team remained in the hunt for a County/Metro Athletic Conference with an 8-4 victory over the Edison-Fresno Tigers.

The Tuesday win extends Madera’s winning streak to six games, including three in the CMAC to remain alone at the top of the standings after defending CMAC champ Bullard-Fresno lost Tuesday to the Sanger Apaches. Madera will look to remain undefeated in the CMAC with a home game against Bullard on Friday with first pitch at 3:30 p.m.

Aaliyah Cuevas led the 15-hit Coyote offense with two doubles and a triple. Katelan Galleano was 3-for-4 with a double and Raven DeLeon was 3-for-3.

Madera got a major contribution from the bottom of the batting order. The top three Coyote batters went a combined 1-for-14. Meanwhile batters three through nine hit a combined 14-for-22 (.636) with six runs and six RBIs...
