Fridays loss gives co-CMAC title to Madera and Bullard
All it took were two hits in the first inning.
The Bullard-Fresno Knights put two runs on the board in the first inning and Claire Stucker got help from her defense to keep the Madera Coyote softball team off the scoreboard Friday at Zimmerman Field.
“A lot of softball games are won in the first or seventh innings,” head coach Judy Shaubach said. “And we lost the game in the first inning.”
The 2-0 loss dropped the Coyotes (8-2 CMAC) to a tie with the Knights for the County/Metro Athletic Conference championship. The title is Madera’s second straight CMAC title, after going 10-0 last year.
