When the Madera Coyote baseball team faced Fresno High in the 15th annual Central Baseball Classic — the defending Div. II section champion Coyotes (6-3) showed the Warriors (6-3) what happens when you combine top-notch defensive play with fundamental hitting.

The result was a 10-0 Madera victory Wednesday over the defending North Yosemite League champs on Mel Parker Field.

The Coyotes host Liberty today at 3:30 p.m.

For defensive-minded Coyote head coach Andy Underwood, it was a pleasant sight to see seven zeroes lit up across the scoreboard indicating Fresno’s number of total runs per inning...
