Coyotes ready for ground-and-pound Porterville

The Madera Coyotes will look to continue a two-game winning streak and their season tonight as they head out of town for a bout with the Porterville Panthers in the quarterfinal round of Div. III football playoff action.

The Panthers (8-2) come off a bye week and hold the second seed in Div. III of the Central Section, largely thanks to their high-scoring Wing T rushing scheme which averages more than 320 yards a contest and has 40 points or more six times this season.

At the head of that attack are dual threats Isaiah Jones, a sophomore who has 1,220 yards and 15 touchdowns, and senior Austin Hefner who has 1,094 yards and 11 scores.

Both runners average just under 10 yards every time they touch the ball and Coyote head coach Bonner Cunnings said the Panthers built their attack around the two stars...
